US folk-rock stars The Lumineers will make their South African debut this December when award-winning agency Seed Experiences, Virgin Mobile South Africa and 5FM bring the band to local stages.

They’ll perform at Cape Town’s iconic Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on 4 December and at Johannesburg’s Emmarentia Dam for a daytime concert on 6 December.


The Lumineers became a success story in their native US with their 2011 self-titled debut album. The album gave the band international recognition, selling over 3-million copies, and over 5,5-million single downloads of their debut single – and arguably the band’s most famous song to date – ‘Ho Hey’. The music video for ‘Ho Hey’ has already gained over 109-million YouTube views alone (


The band was nominated for bothBest New Artist” and “Best Americana Album” at the 2013 Grammy Awards and has played to sold-out shows all over the world, as well as taking to the stage at major festivals like Glastonbury, Redding, Leeds, Lollapalooza, Big Day Out and others on the US and European calendars.

Now The Lumineers will perform live for the first time in South Africa.

After more than a decade of scaling the upper echelons of the South African entertainment industry –the multi-talented  Pandry Bobo Seretsane – or simply BO to those in the know –  is about to take his music career stratospheric!


The vehicle to get the one time Four Man Act member and Denim lead singer there is his stellar debut solo singleRise  #togetherpeople ”.“It’s up-beat and feel-good and showcases one of the many sides of my personality,” BO says of the song he wrote as part of what will become a fully-fledged album before the end of 2014.


BO’s  journey will see him putting the finishing touches to the album which is sure to include many more intriguing surprises, even an international collaboration or two, perhaps ? 

I’m not giving anything away just yet,”  says Bo with a smile,  “What I will say is; it will be filled with a whole lot of high energy, and even more feel good”. With Denim’s last album and Number One singleCrazy Love”  charting on at least 10 radio stations and being play listed on virtually every radio station across the country, the chart-topping single  [written by Bo]  is indicative that it is his time to shine  - “I’ve been working towards this for over two years,”,  the writer and performer recalls. “I wanted to have something to say lyrically. Something that inspires people and that ultimately gives us all hope.”

You know its going to be a Good Weekend when on a  Friday afternoon one of your clients decides to have a gift sent to your office.
